Binders – what group of products do we refer to as binders?

Binder products are a group of products used to bind toxins in the body. These substances adsorb toxins, heavy metals, and harmful metabolites in the digestive tract, preventing their reabsorption and supporting liver detoxification.

Binders can be used in the following cases:

  • for body detoxification,

  • in liver-related issues,

  • in cases of food poisoning (including after excessive alcohol consumption),

  • to support other therapies.

How to use binders:

  • take on an empty stomach or between meals (at least 1–2 hours before or after eating),

  • always drink plenty of water and maintain proper hydration,

  • do not take binders together with medications or supplements, as they may reduce their absorption,

  • use binders short-term or occasionally, not continuously, as they bind not only toxins but also nutrients.

Activated charcoal comes in two main forms:

  • Food-grade charcoal (activated from various sources)

  • Coconut charcoal (activated from coconut shells)

Both types have similar adsorptive properties, but they differ in composition, efficacy, and applications.

Food-grade charcoal:

  • Derived from wood (e.g., charcoal), peat, lignite, or nutshells,

  • Produced by burning at high temperatures in an oxygen-free environment, then activated chemically or thermally to increase its ability to bind toxins.

Coconut charcoal:

  • Made exclusively from coconut shells, making it more ecological and natural,

  • The fine pore structure of coconut shells gives it a larger adsorption surface,

  • Up to 50% higher adsorption surface than standard food-grade charcoal,

  • Has a milder taste,

  • Free from unnecessary additives, which is important in supplements,

  • More expensive, but reflects higher quality and sustainable origin.
